Family

 

A gift from heaven,

She came in spring,

Sweet pink and purple,

She is lying in the cradle;

While her mom make a shush,

She coos like the song thrush;

With benign composure,

Our family’s cynosure;

She looks like her sister,

With soft cloud like cheeks;

She has a lovely aura,

Our little Teodora!

Deja Vu

Feels just yesterday, 

In our hands, tiny Kaia lay;

Swiftly time flew, 

While bigger she grew,

Feels like deja vu, to know,

We are blessed with another shining star;

A lovely little flower, a little sister,

And the family tree grows stronger and taller!

Happy Feet

 

A little shining star,

Fell in our hands, from the sky afar;

The little one blushes like rose,

when she cries & strikes a pose; 

Her daisy hands with little mittens,

She sleeps like a little kitten;

Her sweet cherry lips,

Her tiny feet are petals of tulip; 

Looking at us with baby fawn eyes,

She gives us immense pleasure;

With shining golden skin and coy,

Our little bundle of joy!

Life

From the beginning of time,

One goal has remained prime,

For the universe to conspire,

Against odds most dire; 

And that supreme feat,

Is the evolution of life;

Eons past and to come,

It is the only outcome;

Despite countless disasters,

That nearly wiped out life,

Tenacious life always rises, 

Like a phoenix, from the ashes;  

Big and small, short and tall, 

It transpires in multiple forms;

The meaning of life, 

Is to create life!

 

New Horizons

In life, there comes a day,

When you are at crossroads,

Pondering which may,

Be the right way;

The new path may,

Have few steep peaks,

And serene valleys,

Along the way;

Lead the way with courage,

With a partner to encourage,

The journey shall be joyous,

And have a purpose!

 

Discipline

In this world, all great men,

Have proved time and again,

One quality makes them win,

Having utmost discipline;

Genghis Kahn in the east,

To Alexander in the west,

Had ruthless ambition,

Forged by hard principles;

Winning the inner battle,

Is harder than sieging a castle;

Men who keep their frame,

Rise to the pinnacle of fame;

To pierce the armor of fear,

With conviction as the spear,

Slay the demon of greed,

With discipline you lead.

 

Hike

A day of leisure,

To enjoy  in nature;

Across the sea,

To an island with glee;

Lush and hilly,

Filled with daisy and lily;

Go on a hilly trail,

Winding and meandering;

Where the fresh air brims,

The hike energizes the limbs;

Long walk to reach the hilltop,

And rest on the grass top. 

 

Warrior

Agile and adaptive,

Always on the move;

One move ahead,

To slay the enemy’s head;

Breaking any barrier,

The strength of the warrior;

Survival of the fittest,

The glory of conquest;

Skill and brave heart, 

Rips mighty enemy apart;

The real warrior stride,

Stronger inside than outside.

 

Eye of the Tiger

Majestic and serene,
Inspires awe and fear; 

Vast lands he prowls,

With a fearful growl;

A solitary ranger,

The ultimate killer;

With a coat of royal wealth,

A master of stealth;

You won’t hear an ounce, 

Until the killer pounce;

Killer instinct, you peer,

In the eye of the Tiger.

The Hold

Greener, longer and taller, 

Grows the curly creeper; 

With all its might, 

Towards the light;

Winding and climbing with glee,

Around the strong trunk of the tree;

The selfless tree keeps giving,

The hold, to keep the creeper thriving;

The creeper may forget the hold,

Gloated with pride, becoming bold;

The strong old wind comes to behold,

Reminding the creeper, to never forget the hold!

The Respectable Male

They are expendable,

But always dependable;

Building something respectable,

To be called commendable;

Fighting from birth till death,

For the rightful heir to breath;

Standing out from the pack,

Like the iridescent peacock;

Grab the eye of the muse,

And sow the seed of life;

Lead friends to build a kingdom,

Bring up the heir with wisdom;

Is Nature’s destiny for men,

Fulfill it with zeal time and again.

 

Winter

Days are shorter,

Nights are longer;

 

Far is the simmering sun,

In this reign of the moon;

Light quickly fades,

As darkness descends;

 

Grey sky, nature weaves,

Gone are the leaves;

 

Even a gentle breeze,

Makes you freeze;

 

Creatures go forth,

In search of warmth;

 

Nature's dark laidback style,

Is the stark winter.

Shooting Star

A night of banter,

Around the bonfire;

 

Together we enjoy,

Staring at the night sky;

 

A streak of fire in the sky,

Passes in the blink of an eye;

 

A visitor from outer space,

Enters our world to amaze;

 

Although he shall perish,

Selflessly, he grants each a wish!

Fall Colors

All day, she was seen,

In lustrous green;

Pleasing to the eye,

Against the blue sky;

 

As a cool breeze blows,

She adorns a coat of orange,

To match the glittering sun,

Birds perch, in her long brown locks;

 

Now, she is such a sight,

Dancing in dazzling colors;

Then, she fades into twilight,

For a long winter night. 

Pioneer

Nature wants you,
To realize your,
Deep desire to discover,
New treasures, to uncover;

The road not taken,
It’s Highs and lows,
Make an exciting tale,
Love the journey;
 
The race to be first,
Winner takes all;
Victory lies beyond fear,
For the pioneer!

Drive

The energy that makes,

The universe expand;

That cosmic energy,

Is within you to expend;

It can neither be created,

Nor be destroyed;

Your drive can never go away,

Channel it in the best way;

Press the pedal,

Step up the gas,

Crank it up a notch,

Just shut up and drive!

Freedom

Spectacular plumage,

A thousand eyes flock,

To see the peacock,

Perched on a rock;

A raven flew from far,

Saw the spectacle,

Awed by the peacock,

Flew down to look;

The raven told the peacock,

"You must be the happiest bird";

The peacock said, with an amused look,

"I thought the same about you";

The raven was in shock,

The peacock remarked,

"Crowds gather to look

At me, inside a cage, while you are free".

Foundations

The bamboo seed,

Takes years to sprout;

When the shoot comes out,

Grows tall in rapid speed;

All those years spent,

To grow strong roots,

So you can start the ascent,

Patience bears fruit.

The Stoic

Nearer you get, farther it goes,

Don't chase, let it come to you;

Be the radiant sun that glows,

The trees will bend to see you;

Keep calm like the earth,

Of patience there is no dearth;

Indifferent to act of men, puny,

For it can react with fury;

Be like the river,

Go with the flow;

Being in the moment,

Is the real joy, you know;

Be cool and just chill,
Take the red pill,

Get into action when,

It matters, like a Zen.

End Game

An interesting game,

That goes far beyond;

Starts with an opening,

Millions of ways to the ending;

Stay safe in castles, you may,

Or take the attack to the enemy;

No straight path in sight,

Hop over like the Knight;

Keep going no matter what,

In one fortuitous move,

With persistence, even a tiny Pawn,

Can become the powerful Queen;

Sacrifices may be a bait,

To deliver the checkmate;

Moves, wiser and faster,

Makes one a Grandmaster;

March the squares black and white,

Ride life’s highs and lows;

Without the King it's game over,

Survival is the name of the game;

The ruthless art of war,

Indeed, is the art of life;

Being many moves ahead,

Wins you the End Game.
