Traveler

The world moves backward,

As you move forward,

Splendid stories unravel,

When you travel;

In the sky, on the sea,

You can be an aviator,

You can be a sailor,

When you are a traveler;

Overcome danger,

With a band of strangers,

Be a star in a thriller,

Be a traveler;

Born to explore,

It's your primal desire,

A cocktail of novelty,

Awaits a thirsty traveler.

The Friend in Need

Jump into the water,

It pushes you up;

Failure pushes you down,

For you to pull up;

For every life you see,

Countless deaths, you don't see;

Failure is nature's way,

Of showing you a new way;

Bear the sting of rejection,

To taste the sweet honey;

Rejection leads to introspection,

You know what's going awry;

Like a bird peeking into life,

Breaking the egg shell,

Break the shell of challenge,

To keep growing in life;

Without a strong challenge,

There is no desire to change;

Change in the only constant,

In the arms race of evolution;

Success is a fair weather friend,

Who gives you a good time;

Failure is the friend in need,

Who guides you at the right time.

Doctor Time

Pitter patter days together,

Grey skies seem forever,

Play spoilsport to your plan,

Go nowhere you can.

Makes you hop around for days after,

Yet, when the prodigal sun is back,

Gloomy days seem a long time back,

You enjoy the gift of green grass.

Pain of failure gives sleepless nights,

You try to move on with all might,

Yet it lingers in mind, like a red light,

To your train of thought.

The soothing balm of time,

Heals wounds in time,

When the Healer is done,

With his job, your pain is gone.

The Healer sometimes leaves a scar,

To remind in the future afar,

That you had overcome pain,

And you can do it again!

Fear turns into Addiction

Haunts you in the day,

Your worst nightmare;

Into the abyss you stare,

Fear keeps you at bay;

Gentle wave feels like tsunami,

Snowy slopes trigger an avalanche,

You get strangled by redwood branch,

The feeling when fear overwhelms;

Embrace your worst fear,

It's not your fiend;

Cape of courage, you wear,

And just do it my friend!

You fail at first,

But you know you can fight,

You dig deep, your game gets tight,

And this won't be your last;

The shark has smelt blood,

Fear gets washed away

As excitement floods,

You speed on this 'high'way;

Now, you surf the sea waves,

Ski the snowy slopes,

Hike in the woods,

Fear has turned into addiction!

The Solitary Sailor

Neither tempest nor rocking wave,

Deter the brave hearted sailor;
Burning flame of passion to discover,
Desire for his name, history to engrave;

Many a times is he misled,
Many a times is he deceived,

By false signs strewn across the sea,
Disappointed, tantalisingly close to be;

Hearing a sweet song, he steers,
Atop a rock, mesmerising maidens peer,
But turn into killer mermaids as he nears,

The skilful sailor outwits the assassins;

The splendid sight of land gleams, 

Stirs a hurricane of emotions,
Alas! a mirage,it fizzles out into dejection,
As the ship breaks through cloud of dreams;

The eternal explorer keeps going,
Following the compass of hope,

To either rule the dreamland,
Or make the sea his grave!

The Hunt

A dark dangerous path seldom taken,
Slithery curves slide into disaster,

A misstep leads to misery,

Yet, the hunter relishes this journey.

The proud magnificent lion,

The symbol of power and fear,

But only the lion's ear can hear,

That nine out of ten hunts go in vain.

Unfazed, the hunter carries on,

Armed with the dagger of deception,

The piercing arrow of persistence

And a strong hopeful heart.

But why?

Unpredictability and surprise,

Pent up tension and release,

The thrill of the chase,

Make the hunt an addictive drug!

Curiosity

The expression of novelty,

The beginning of discovery,

The purpose of all sensation,

The mother of invention,

What?

The engine of exploration,

The shocking effect of illusion,

The hunt for the elusive,

The search for the missing,

Where?

Precious, can't get back once lost,

Building blocks of experience,

Written in the pages of history,

What lies ahead is a mystery,

When?

The devil is in the details,

Clarity in thinking entails,

In a world of progress,

 Skill and artistic greatness,

How?

The sign of a rational mind,

Leaving ignorance far behind,

Dig deeper with persistence,

To unearth the treasure of intelligence,

Why?
